In total there were 26,431 applications to study at Exeter.

The University has seen an even bigger rise in international undergraduate applications which have risen by 84%. Applications to the University’s Business School have risen by 120 per cent.

The University’s popularity is also reflected in the National Student Survey. Exeter has one of the highest National Student Survey rankings in the country and has maintained its top 10 position for four years running. In 2008, the University came 4th in the UK amongst full service universities, just behind Cambridge.

Two further surveys have confirmed Exeter’s reputation for strong student satisfaction. In a student satisfaction survey published by Times Higher Education, Exeter was ranked 7th in the UK. A third survey by accommodationforstudents.com rated Exeter as one of the ten best university cities in the UK and second best amongst southern universities, along with Brighton.

In the 2008 National Student Survey, Exeter scored in the top 10 in every category, including 4th for teaching, 5th for academic support, personal development, and organisation and management, and 6th for assessment and feedback.
