Exeter establishes representation in India

In keeping with Exeter's project offices in Shanghai and Beijing, which opened last year, the University's representation in Bangalore will facilitate partnership development, build industry and research links, support the University's Indian alumni, and provide an exploratory employment placement service for Indian students returning from study at the University. Exeter is the first British university to establish such an operation in Bangalore. 

Project Manager is Vivienne Fenandoe, formerly Area Manager (Karnataka, Pune) for IDP Education India. Project Officer is Varun Sanam Ramesh, who recently returned to Bangalore after studying and working at the University of Leeds. 

Speaking about why Exeter chose this location, Dr Shaun Curtis, Director of International Exeter said, "Bangalore is a hugely important city for us. We are developing excellent research links with some of India's best universities located there, namely the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore; the National Institute of Advanced Studies; and the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore. We also have long standing links with Thomson Reuters, which are also based in Bangalore."
