Exeter shortlisted for Outstanding International Strategy

The University of Exeter has been shortlisted for the Outstanding International Strategy in the Times Higher Education Leadership and Management Awards 2011.

Exeter has also been shortlisted in the categories of ICT Initiative of the Year, Human Resources, and Leadership & Management.  The awards attracted almost 200 entries from 95 different institutions.

In a further development, the International Office has been shortlisted for the University's own Professional Services Recognition Awards, for both Outstanding Team of the Year and for Outstanding Innovation/Project of the Year for the International Summer School.  The results will be announced on 28 April.

Dr Shaun Curtis, Director of International Exeter, said "Being shortlisted for these three awards is a fantastic achievement that demonstrates the depth of talent we have in the International Office.  All 28 members of staff can be justifiably proud of these nominations.  We've had a very successful year and I am delighted to see this recognised by the University and by peers in the UK HE sector."

Ann Mroz, editor of THE, said: "Our annual awards always serve as a reminder of the extraordinary quality and dedication of those working in our universities and colleges.  This year is no exception. Our sector, like every other, has already gone through some tough times and is facing more turbulence as the new funding regime beds in. But a glance at the shortlist for our Leadership and Management Awards is enough to instil confidence that we have the right people in place to continue to prosper and deliver the world-class higher education for which the country is rightly renowned."

The winners of this year's THE awards will be announced at a ceremony at the Grosvenor House Hotel in Park Lane, London, on 16 June.
