New Business School building marked completion with Chinese New Year festivities

Throughout the afternoon in the region of 1000 visitors sampled the delights of the Chinese market, learnt about Chinese culture and tried their hand at making some traditional Chinese dumplings. In addition, there were performances of dance, drama, music and a tea ceremony. A fireworks display rounded off the celebrations.

Yuting Bai, President of the CSSA added ‘Chinese New Year is an important occasion for being together with loved ones and having a wonderful time. We hope this event provided a taste of home for the Chinese students but, more importantly, enabled us to share our culture and traditions with others in the University and the residents of Exeter. Past celebrations have been successful but this was our biggest and best ever.’

Richard Lamming, Dean of the Business School concluded ‘We were delighted to be able to mark the completion of our splendid new building with an event that reflects our international outlook and the diversity that we enjoy in the School.’

The new building at the Business School, which will be formally opened in the spring, represents an £18million investment - part of a wider £25million commitment to improving facilities.
