Professor John Bessant
Business School starts up innovation club
A new forum for local businesses to exchange ideas and best practice has been created by the University of Exeter Business School.
The Innovation Club enables senior executives to get together on a bi-monthly basis, share experiences using a peer-to-peer learning format and discover new ways to encourage their organisations to perform better.
Members also benefit from specialist academic expertise in this area, ‘live’ case studies from businesses looking to manage their innovation processes and group working.
Allen Alexander, Research Fellow, Innovation, explained: ‘The Innovation Club is an exciting new opportunity for South West business professionals looking to explore ways they can develop the innovation capacity within their business and link with other focused individuals seeking to do the same. It also gives them access to academics who are continuously producing fresh research in the field as well as hearing about new ideas from their peer group.’
The Innovation Club is the brainchild of Professor John Bessant, who recently joined the University from Imperial College, London where he established himself as a leading international authority on innovation. Having written more than 23 books on the subject, John is experienced in creating stimulating discourse between the participants at each bi-monthly event.
Currently there are more than 20 companies represented at each event, which costs only £10. More details can be found on the Innovation Club website.
