Winner of Best Lecturer, Tim Rees commented “I was delighted to be nominated and was completely thrilled to find out that I’d won. My thanks go to the students who nominated me and all the others that make my work so enjoyable. I couldn’t ask for a better, more enthusiastic group of young people to spend time with.”
The Students’ Guild also honoured Russell Seal, the outgoing head of Council, with a Special Recognition Award for the immense hard work he has put into bettering the academic experience for students during his tenure. University of Exeter Vice-Chancellor Professor Sir Steve Smith said: “He is without doubt the very best chair of a University governing body you could ever have. He’s ambitious, he’s supportive, he’s friendly, he’s professional, but above all he’s pushed us all to do the very best we can do.”
James Eales, Students’ Guild Vice President Academic Affairs said: “It was fantastic to see so many people come together tonight to celebrate wonderful teaching at Exeter. We had so many great nominations this year that to pick eight winners was almost impossible, but we just about managed it! Congratulations to those of you who won, got shortlisted or were simply nominated. Your students think you're amazing, and so do I.”
