Business School lecturer highly commended by leading academic publisher
Dr Stephen Jollands from the Business School has been given a Highly Commended Award in the 2012 Emerald/European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD) Outstanding Doctoral Research Awards. Stephen’s winning thesis was entitled ‘Management Control Systems and Sustainability’ in the interdisciplinary accounting research category, sponsored by Accounting, Auditing & Accountability Journal.
Commenting on the award Stephen said: “With so much competition from around the world, I was absolutely thrilled to be Highly Commended in these prestigious awards. It’s also reassuring to know that others in the academic community recognise the importance of considering sustainability within existing business accounting conventions. ”
The awards are jointly offered by Emerald Group Publishing Limited, publisher of the largest collection of international business and management journals, and the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD), a global membership organization with more than 700 institutional members from academia, business and public services and seek to celebrate excellence in research. There are twelve categories covering a huge range of business and management disciplines.
