Exeter is in the Top 200 in the world for many subject areas
University of Exeter placed amongst world’s best by influential international rankings
League tables published today (Wednesday 8 May 2013) show that the University of Exeter features in the world’s Top 200 institutions in 16 of the 30 subjects featured in this year’s QS World University Rankings by Subject.
2,858 universities were evaluated for this, the third edition of the QS World University Rankings by Subject, and 678 institutions ranked in total. 68 million citations were analysed and 8,391 programmes were researched.
University of Exeter subjects Education, English, Geography, Politics and International Studies, and Psychology were amongst the Top 100 in the world. Biological Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Law and Modern Languages all entered the Top 200 for the first time or improved their ranking.
Other subjects in the Top 200 include Accounting and Finance, Economics, Engineering, History and Philosophy.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Sir Steve Smith said, “It has been another great year for the University as we become recognised externally not only for our outstanding Humanities subjects but also for our excellence in other areas including the sciences. As we are now firmly one of the Top 10 universities in the UK, we expect to see our position internationally reflect our domestic success.”
