University of Exeter breaks into THE top 150 globally for first time

The influential Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings have placed Exeter in the top 150 for the first time, in 148th position.

The THE rankings are the only global university performance tables to judge world class universities across all of their core missions - teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook. The top universities rankings employ 13 carefully calibrated performance indicators to provide the most comprehensive and balanced comparisons available, which are trusted by students, academics, university leaders, industry and governments.

Professor Sir Steve Smith, Vice-Chancellor and Chief Executive commented: “The University has come a long way in a relatively short time; our upward trajectory was first reflected by the domestic league tables and is now beginning to be recognised internationally. Whilst this is a fantastic result, Exeter will continue to improve its position as its reputation for world class teaching and research grows around the globe.”
