Take part - join the Exeter 10,000
Play your part to improve healthcare through research
In just 30 minutes, you could find out more about your health and contribute towards helping researchers make new discoveries to benefit others.
Right here in Exeter, a major project is under way to establish a body of participants whose anonymised data can be analysed by scientists working at the cutting edge of healthcare research.
The National Institute of Health Research (NIHR) Exeter Clinical Research Facility is a partnership between the University of Exeter Medical School and the Royal Devon & Exeter NHS Trust. We have recruited 7,000 volunteers to join the Exeter 10,000: a gateway to clinical research participation in Exeter. We hope to recruit a further 3,000 volunteers in the next two years and we are looking for individuals, companies and community groups to join the project. Participation involves a 30 minute health check, which can be carried out at the NIHR Clinical Research Facility, or we can visit places of work or come out into the community. For full information visit our website.
The Exeter 10,000 provides a central resource for researchers undertaking healthcare research, including NHS staff, sports scientists, psychologists, geneticists, microbiologists and physicists and we have supported over 60 different studies so far.
