Russell Seal Fittness Centre

Russell Seal Fitness Centre a huge success

Opened on the 5 September 2013, the Russell Seal Fitness Centre on the University of Exeter’s Streatham Campus is already a huge success.

The dedicated two storey facility features over 200 stations of the latest Life Fitness equipment as well as a new studio and changing rooms. We have also hugely increased the variety of classes and interactivity which is already proving extremely popular.

Director of Sport Phil Attwell is delighted with the response to the Russell Seal Fitness Centre. He said: “So far we have seen a significant increase in students and staff making use of the gym, and it is fantastic to be able to offer them such a high quality facility. The feedback we have been getting has been incredibly positive, and it reinforces that we have made the right decision to invest in an entirely new set up; after all, health and fitness is such an important part of life.

“We wanted to create a world class training facility, I really think we have achieved this, and judging by the comments we have had from our customers, they think so too.”

The Centre has been a success, with a significant rise in those using the gym. So far, over 15000 visitors have used the facility.

He added:“A while ago we increased the Sports Parks opening hours to make it easier for our customers to fit the gym around their busy schedules. By opening at 06:30 and closing at 22:00 during the week, we have tried to ensure that there is always time for people to come and visit us. It is making a huge difference particularly in the early evenings when the gym is at its busiest.”

The facility was built with the expressed aim of getting more people to enjoy health and fitness by having the best possible space to do this in.
