We need people from a wide range of backgrounds to interview future medics
Recruiting tomorrow's doctors: be part of the process
The University of Exeter Medical School is seeking people from a wide range of backgrounds to sit on interview panels to recruit tomorrow's medics. In September the University will welcome students on to its five year medical programme. Drawing on the strength of our partnership with the NHS in Devon and Cornwall to provide what we believe to be the most exciting and innovative medical undergraduate degree programme available today, this programme aims to deliver a unique learning experience in healthcare.
All applicants who meet our set academic requirements will be required to attend an interview in order to assess various non-academic traits. We are seeking open-minded, fair individuals who are interested in assisting in selecting our medics. We welcome a broad range of people from across the region to make up our interviewing panels, so as to ensure the reliability of our process. There are four categories of interview panellists: medical practitioners, other healthcare professionals, academics and lay community members, so everyone is eligible.
Panels will consist of 3 or 4 people and will take place December 2014 and February 2015.
Training workshops to explain the process and scoring system employed by the University will take place on Tuesday July 1 2014 at our St Luke’s Campus, and can be arranged to suit need. In line with the General Medical Council guidelines, Equality and Diversity training will be provided to those who require it. Your travel expenses will be refunded and refreshments provided.
