University of Exeter appoints new Chief Operating Officer
The University of Exeter is pleased to announce the appointment of Geoff Pringle as Chief Operating Officer. Geoff has been acting in the role since February, having previously held the role of Director of Campus Services at the University.
Since joining Exeter in 2009, Geoff has overseen many of the University’s most significant developments including the flagship student services centre at the heart of the Streatham Campus, the Forum, the redevelopment of the Sports Park and the significant investment in new student accommodation.
In his new role, Geoff will take overall management responsibility for all areas of the University’s services and facilities, including research, HR, student recruitment, IT, libraries, catering and accommodation, marketing, fundraising, estates and planning and international relations.
Professor Sir Steve Smith, University of Exeter Vice-Chancellor and Chief Executive said: “As Chief Operating Officer, Geoff is a key part of the future transformation of the University. I am very much looking forward to working with him as we take the next part of our journey into the Global 100. He is a well-respected leader in the University and the city, and I warmly congratulate him on this appointment.”
Sarah Turvill, Chair of the University’s Council added: “This is a fantastic appointment for the University and Geoff is exactly the right person to oversee the next phase of the development of the University's ambitions.”
Speaking of his appointment, Geoff said: “This is an exciting time to be a part of the University, and I am delighted to be able to continue to work with our outstanding students, staff and alumni to strengthen our already world-class reputation, and achieve our goal of being recognised as a global top 100 institution.”
Geoff will be starting his new appointment with a series of staff talks, starting on 19 November.
