Dial 0 for an outside line or 1000 for switchboard
Dialling outside lines made easier
From Wednesday 6 May, anyone who dials 0 from an internal phone at the University’s Streatham and St Luke’s campuses will get an outside line. Dialling 9 will still provide an outside line.
To reach the switchboard team please dial 1000.
We’re hoping that these changes will save the switchboard team from receiving around 150-200 calls each day from people expecting to get outside lines when they dial 0 at the start of landlines or mobiles.
Lyn Jordan, Switchboard Team Leader, says: “As much as we like talking to our colleagues, we know they’d rather get on with the outside call they’re trying to make. We’re still happy to help people who dial 1000. We can find numbers, help locate people and dial international numbers.”
