The latest league table ranks Exeter 14th overall out of 129 UK higher education institutions.
Exeter subjects secure top 10 status in latest influential rankings table
Sport and Health Sciences at the University of Exeter has been recognised as the best course of its kind in the country in the latest influential rankings.
It is one of 24 subjects that feature in the top 10 of the Complete University Guide 2018, published today (26 April). A further 12 subjects are ranked in the top 20, meaning every subject eligible for the ranking is recognised as being amongst the best in the country.
Sport and Health Sciences, which is based at the St Luke’s Campus in Exeter, has regained the top ranking after rising three places from last year. It already has an exceptional track-record for student satisfaction, while staff collaborate with professional athletes and industry leaders to tailor individual courses.
It is one of 10 subjects to feature in the top 5 of the rankings, alongside Medical Technology (2nd), Drama, Film Studies and Sociology (3rd), History and Theology & Religion (4th), Accounting and Finance and Middle Eastern and African Studies (5th).
The University of Exeter’s Medicine programme enters the top 10 for the first time (8th), alongside Classics, Archaeology, Business, Philosophy and English (6th), Geology, Art History and Anthropology (7th), Geography, Politics and Psychology (8th), Russian (9th) and Italian (10th). Economics (11th), Biological Sciences, Physics, General Engineering, French and German (all 12th), French (13th) Mathematics (14th), German and Mechanical Engineering (15th), Iberian (16th), Electrical Engineering (18th) and both Computer Science and Civil Engineering (20th) complete the top 20 standings for Exeter.
The latest league table also ranks Exeter 14th overall out of 129 UK higher education institutions, comparative to last year’s position, and 8th in the Russell Group of leading research intensive universities.
