Experts gather for Cystic Fibrosis event
Cystic fibrosis experts will gather to discuss their research and share ideas at the University of Exeter.
Staff from the Cystic Fibrosis Trust, which funds research at the university, will visit the St Luke’s Campus on Tuesday (16 April) to meet researchers and hear talks about their work.
Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a genetic condition that causes sticky mucus to build up in the lungs and digestive system.
Tuesday’s event is being organised by Dr Owen Tomlinson whose work, funded by the CF Trust, examines the benefits of physical activity for young people with CF.
“We are evaluating an online system to promote physical activity, trying to show young people that activity can be both safe and enjoyable for people with the condition,” Dr Tomlinson said.
“This event will be an opportunity to hear a series of talks from research fellows and PhD students working on various projects related to CF.”
The talks, which will begin at 3pm in South Cloisters room 3.06, are open to anyone who is interested.
