iExeter for staff app improvements driven by great feedback

Valued feedback helps drive iExeter for staff app improvements

The iExeter for staff app is improving and evolving all the time thanks to staff feedback via the app itself, helping set the development roadmap.

As the University moves to more digital ways of working the iExeter app is a key tool to help our staff and students find information and services faster and on the go. This month has seen several improvements in response to staff feedback. The number of times you are prompted to sign into your email and other office 365 features is reduced, more links added, other links moved to more suitable locations. By listening to users, we have been able to implement popular requests such as a ‘bin days’ tile for Exeter postcodes. These changes have been requested by staff via the feedback tile in the app and direct feedback in departmental meetings.

The app has some useful features to help you get the best out of it. The search function in the app helps to quickly find what you’re looking for. You can also customise your iExeter experience using the ‘arrange’ function to make your favourite tiles appear first in the app.

How do I arrange my home screen so I can only see the tiles I want to see?

Using the arrange button found on the bottom menu on mobile apps or in the top left corner when using a web browser on laptop/desktop computer.  To find out more read the FAQs section on how to arrange your iExeter home screen.

Christian Carter, Head of Organisational Development adds, “iExeter has been developed as a result of feedback from colleagues in the last employee engagement survey. It’s great to see this developing as a new internal communication route as we receive more feedback from colleagues.”

More developments are planned over the coming months so please continue to share your ideas with us, if you can’t find what you’re looking for please tell us using the app or web version. Further information can be found via the webpages iExeter and iExeter FAQs and iExeter for staff can be accessed via desktop here https://i.exeter.ac.uk/campusm/home#menu

Upcoming developments will include quick access to climate emergency, learning and development, fair employment, values, and further wellbeing information, improvements to the transport tile features and browser navigation across the app.
