Arts and Humanities secures top 100 position in influential rankings
The thriving international reputation and research strengths of the University of Exeter’s Arts and Humanities subjects have been recognised in the latest influential rankings.
Arts and Humanities at the University – which includes languages, literature, history, philosophy, theology and archaeology - has been ranked 98th in the latest Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings by subject 2022, released today (November 3rd 2021).
This year saw 565 universities take part in the rankings from across the world, up from 536 in the previous rankings. THE’s global rankings are judged on research citations and international outlook as a key indicator of the subjects’ worldwide reputation.
Professor Jo Gill, Pro-Vice-Chancellor and Executive Dean for the College of Humanities at the University of Exeter said: “"We are delighted to see that the Times World University rankings have, again, recognised the excellence of the work we do in a broad range of arts and humanities subjects at the University of Exeter.
“Our top 100 ranking confirms that Exeter is one of the best places in the world to find exciting, rigorous, original, impactful and creative research and teaching in the arts and humanities and is testament to the quality and commitment of academics, students and professional staff across the College.”
