Exeter rises in Guardian University Guide ranking
The University of Exeter has been ranked as one of the top 15 UK universities in the influential Guardian University Guide 2022.
Exeter rose one place to 15th in the latest rankings, published on September 11th 2021. Universities are ranked according to a number of factors, including student satisfaction and career prospects.
The influential guide is accompanied by rankings showing how universities perform across the main subject areas, with Exeter enjoying considerable success. Two subjects were ranked in the top five, a further seven secured places in the top 10, while there were 12 subjects ranked between 11th and 20th.
Earth and Marine Sciences was the highest ranking subject, securing second position, while Engineering: Materials and Minerals (3rd) also featured in the top 5.
Media & film studies (6th), Engineering: electronic & electrical (6th), Classics & Ancient History (7th), Anthropology (8th), Engineering: mechanical (9th), Sport Science (9th), and Accounting & Finance (10th) complete the subjects ranked across the top 10.
Religious studies and Theology, Forensic Science & Archaeology are all ranked 11th, while History of Art is placed 13th. Politics and Engineering (General) were both ranked 15th, while Philosophy, Sociology, and Business, Management & Marketing secured 16th positions.
Medicine is ranked 17th, While English & Creative writing and Psychology (both 18th) complete the top 20 positions for the University.
