EQUIS accreditation is among the most important credentials when assessing the merits of a Business School
University of Exeter Business School celebrates successful EQUIS re-accreditation
The University of Exeter Business School has been re-accredited for a further five years by leading quality assessment body EQUIS, which praised the ‘serious progress’ it has made.
An EQUIS accreditation is a prestigious international recognition of educational excellence and commitment to continuous quality improvement.
It is considered among the most important credentials for prospective students, parents and employers when assessing the merits of a Business School.
The University of Exeter Business School’s re-accreditation is for the maximum period of five years, continuing the School’s membership of a select group of global Business Schools that hold the much coveted five-year accreditation.
In reaching its decision, the accreditation board commended the University of Exeter Business School for its commitment to ethics, responsibility and sustainability and for its emphasis on topics such as responsible leadership, environmental sustainability and digital transformation.
It also praised the delivery of academic programmes, the Business School’s close ties to business and its ability to prepare students for the job market.
The EQUIS re-accreditation process takes several years of preparation, with the assessment covering all programmes offered by a Business School, as well as all other activities and areas of the institution, including research, teaching, business connections, community engagement, student opinion and alumni relations.
The University of Exeter Business School’s initial accreditation was attained in September 2013.
Professor Alexandra Gerbasi, Acting Pro-Vice Chancellor at the University of Exeter Business School, paid tribute to everyone who contributed to the re-accreditation, including staff, students, alumni and corporate partners.
Professor Gerbasi said: “l am delighted that EQUIS has re-accredited the University of Exeter Business School for the maximum term of five years, and incredibly proud of all those who through their hard work have helped make this happen.
“The accreditation board highlighted that the School has developed into a highly innovative Business School focused on relevant topics of the future such as responsible leadership, environmental sustainability and digital transformation.
"We aim to continue along this path as we strive to deliver first class business education and research that addresses the major challenges confronting businesses and society.”
