Alumni stretch their horizons during Reunion Weekend
This was the first year that the Convocation reunion has been held to coincide with the University’s alumni reunion weekend. The reunion offered the chance to tour the Streatham Campus and hear updates on all the latest developments, and alumni and their guests had the chance to choose from more than 25 different events and activities over the course of the weekend.
Highlights included the Andrew Stratton Lecture, an annual public lecture which this year was given by Professor George Smith on the topic of renewable energy; a special dinner in Reed Hall for alumni celebrating their 50th reunion; and a visit to the University’s newest campus in Cornwall, showcasing the unique research being conducted on that campus. All reunion attendees also had the chance to attend the Convocation AGM and a subsequent discussion on admissions and standards at the University, led by Deputy Vice-Chancellor Professor Mark Overton, who is also an alumnus of the University.
The University would particularly like to thank the dozens of alumni volunteers who organised activities for the weekend, as well as all those who attended. Plans are already underway for Reunion 2011. For more information, email alumni@exeter.ac.uk.
A photo gallery of the weekend is available on our website, including photos taken by alumni themselves. If you would like to share your photos, please send them to alumni@exeter.ac.uk
