The alumni reunion in 2010
Alumni Reunion Plans Unveiled
The plans for this year’s Alumni and Convocation Reunion weekend have just been announced.
Highlights of the weekend include the Andrew Stratton Convocation Lecture and Gala Dinner.
This year there will be a special dinner for those celebrating other
milestone anniversaries, for example those who graduated 25 and 50 years
ago. There will also be an opportunity to see some of the new building developments on the Streatham campus.
"The reunion weekend is a wonderful opportunity for former students to meet old friends,” said Holly Peterson, Head of Alumni Relations. “It’s a trip down memory lane and for many a chance to remember some of the best years of their lives. We are delighted that alumni feel so fondly about Exeter that they want to return."
Last year the weekend was attended by over 120 people. This year’s Reunion weekend is being held from 9 to 13 September inclusive and is one of dozens of events held right around the world for Exeter graduates and supporters. In the last two months special networking events have been held in Athens and Cyprus, as well as the United Arab Emirates.
The newest alumni group, Exetra, which is made up of those who graduated within the last ten years, is going from strength to strength. Exetra events offer recent alumni the chance to engage and network with their fellow Exeter graduates, whilst re-connecting with friends and finding new ones. Its active committee has already organised quiz nights and other social events in London and are looking to host more activities to help boost your employability and skills.
“The enthusiasm shown by the Exetra committee and members is fantastic,” said Holly. “Our role at the University is to help them and all other alumni to get the best out of their Exeter experience. If we can help in any way, just get in touch."
