Top children's author attends Excellence in Exeter awards
Award-winning children’s author Philip Pullman signs copies of his best-selling books at the University of Exeter.
The writer and honorary graduate is famous for the trilogy His Dark Materials. He was at the University to attend the latest Excellence in Exeter awards, which celebrate the achievements of school children in the city.
The celebrations are organised by the University to help forge closer links between the University and local schools and colleges and encourage young people to engage with higher education.
Pupil’s achievements whether academically in sports, the arts and community efforts were recognised and heralded by the parents, staff and fellow students at the event.
Over 180 young people were nominated from all five Exeter secondary schools, special schools and Exeter College.
Philip volunteered his time to help at the event – for more information on volunteering opportunities at the University contact Stephanie Anagnostopoulos at s.r.anagnostopoulos@exeter.ac.uk
