Alumni gather at Arts & Media event
More than 50 alumni and guests attended the annual Arts & Media networking event at the Society of London Theatre Offices.
The evening was generously hosted by alumnus Julian Bird (Economics, 1995), Chief Executive of the Society of London Theatre. The offices displayed a fantastic collection of original photographs from West End shows on loan from the Victoria & Albert Museum.
The reception began with an address by Susie Hills, Director of Development and Alumni Relations, who outlined some of the developments at Exeter and the latest news on Arts & Culture at the University. Julian then gave a talk on Theatre and the Performing Arts – one of the UK’s world leading industries. The challenges and opportunities ahead. This included a short video advertising West End shows in the run up to the 2012 Olympics.
After the speeches there was an opportunity for alumni and staff to network together. The evening provided a great opportunity for guests to make new contacts in the arts and media industry.
