New releases for children's author
Children’s author Chris Higgins has two new books out this summer, the start of two new series.
Alice in the Spotlight (Puffin) is the first of The Secrets Club titles which tell the stories of four girls who meet at secondary school for the first time and become firm friends. But each has a secret they keep from the others.
Former teacher Chris (MA English in the Theory and Practice of Modern Fiction 1992) said: “We all have things we prefer to keep to ourselves but female friendship is often based on shared confidentialities. In the first four books which are written in the first person, each girl’s secret is revealed in turn.”
Her other title My Funny Family (Hodder) which is released this month is aimed at newly independent readers. “My Funny Family on Holiday”, the second book in the series, will be out next spring.
Chris was a teacher of English and drama for many years before turning to writing, with eleven books already published including A Perfect 10 and It’s a 50/50 Thing.
