Alumnae enjoyed last year's Women and Leadership Reception
Top women headline alumnae event
Successful women from the world of politics, business and education will be inspiring the audience at the second Alumnae Reception which is open to all alumni.
Caroline Lucas MP (English 1983), the Green Party’s first MP and until recently the organisation’s leader, will be speaking at the event, alongside Professor of Education and Associate Dean for Research at the University Debra Myhill (English 1980).
Helen Kongai, who works in Uganda for the charity Send a Cow, will also be there to share her experiences, along with Sarah Buck (Engineering Science 1974), Director of BSW Consulting (Exeter) Ltd and a member of the University’s Council, and Jessica Pryce-Jones (Classics 1983), Chief Executive of the iOpener Institute for People and Performance.
The event, called Exe-X: Women Inspiring the World, is open to all alumni and aims to showcase the achievement of Exeter’s female graduates, as well as promote the Alumnae Group which was launched last year. The Alumnae Group is designed to offer friendship, inspiration and support to its members.
Holly Peterson, Head of Alumni Relations, said: “Our graduates achieve amazing things and it’s inspiring to hear their experiences ... We hope the evening will offer a chance to meet old friends and make new ones, as well as providing an opportunity to network.”
Alumna Sarah Turvill, Chairman of Willis International and the new Chair of the University of Exeter’s Council, is generously hosting the event.
