Exeposé celebrates anniversary with exhibition of journalistic history

Open to anyone to visit from 21 October – 4 November, the free exhibition will be located in the newest part of campus – The Forum – but takes an in-depth look at the history of the city and the University through student journalists’ voices from across the decades.

Over the past quarter century, numerous students have worked hard to report the news and debates which have shaped the city’s history. The exhibition will demonstrate how student writers have recorded events of national importance such as Her Majesty the Queen’s visits to Exeter, alongside local issues which have affected the student population and residents alike.

From serious stories and cutting commentary to interviews and reviews in the world of comedy, art, music and films, Exeposé has sought to provide its readership with the best journalism the student body can provide. Many famous people have been interviewed across its 25 year span, including Nick Clegg, Derren Brown, Ian McEwan, Michael McIntyre and Tracey Emin.

"With an entirely voluntary team of student writers, editors and proof-readers, the commitment of the individuals involved over the past 25 years is something which deserves to be celebrated," said Zoe Bulaitis, current Joint Editor.

"University staff, students and indeed anybody whom is interested in learning about Exeter’s history through the eyes of the student population are invited to come and attend this free exhibition on the ground floor of the Forum. As Exeposé continues to grow and develop as an institution within the University of Exeter, a look backward provides a chance to commemorate the triumphs of the newspaper so far."
