Exetra hosts regular networking and skills development events for recent alumni

Exetra Business Skills Workshop

Recent alumni were treated to an evening of insight and tips into the world of job hunting at the Exetra Business Skills Workshop on 11 October.

Hosted by alumna Jackie White (German 1983), CEO of CPC Venues, the Business Skills workshop gathered recent alumni at the Presentation Centre in London to get tips from an expert panel of alumni and senior recruiters.

The panel members each focused on a key area of recruiting and job hunting, sharing their tips and inside knowledge on networking, CV writing, interview skills and application forms. They took plenty of challenging questions from the floor covering a wide range of topics, including how to demonstrate commercial awareness, top questions to ask at interviews and what not to do. They even dared to share some of their own worst interview experiences with the audience.

The members of the panel were:

  • Jo Binding (Psychology, 2000) General Manager, Strategy and Product Development, BT Sport
  • Karen De-Merist - Sector Director Finance & Banking, UK Strategic Clients, Manpower Inc
  • Philip Sartain - Senior Recruiter, Accenture
  • Michelle Tayler (Geography, 1986) - UK Head of Emerging Talent, Atos International.

Thanks to all our speakers for the evening for their valuable insight into the recruitment process.
