Fidelity hosts Anthony Bolton and University of Exeter Business School alumni
Over 100 alumni, together with selected final year students from the Business School, enjoyed an eventful evening in the company of renowned fund manager Anthony Bolton.
University of Exeter alumni, guests, students and staff enjoyed a keynote speech from Anthony Bolton focussing on the emerging role of China in world financial markets.
They celebrated the presentation of the CASE Europe Matched Funding Volunteer award to Nicholas Bull for his work in supporting the University and in leading the very successful Triple Match Campaign. The award was presented by Karen Napier, Associate Dean of Advancement at the London Business School and Kate Hunter, Executive Director of CASE Europe.
Elaine Dunn, Head of Careers and Alumni Relations, University of Exeter Business School said: “This was a wonderful opportunity to hear from Anthony Bolton and to bring students and alumni together. It gave us the opportunity to thank our alumni and friends and to get them excited about contributing to the next stage in the school’s growth and development.
"We are grateful to Barry Bateman for hosting such a successful event and also to Anthony Bolton, for generously giving his time to support the University."
At the event over 20 alumni offered to help Business School students with their careers via mentoring, mock interviews and career 'Insight' talks – generous contributions which will be taken up by the Business School’s Careers and Alumni Relations team in the coming months.
The event, which took place at Fidelity International, was made possible by the generosity of Barry Bateman, Vice-Chairman of Fidelity International Ltd (Economics 1966).
The evening was supported and attended by Galib Virani, Associate Director of Afren plc, who is the Business School’s representative on the University’s Alumni Network Group (ANG). This is the latest in a series of events organised for the Business School Alumni Association, which increasingly attracts recent graduates, as well as seasoned professionals.
