Greek scholarships announced at Athens alumni event
Exeter’s Vice-Chancellor Professor Sir Steve Smith will be announcing two new scholarships for Greek students this week at a networking event in Athens for the University’s alumni, offer-holders and friends.
Being held at the Hilton Athens, the evening is the latest in a series of successful alumni events held over the past 3 years, and the first to be hosted by the Vice-Chancellor, who commented: “Our Greek alumni and friends are very much in our thoughts. It is at challenging times like this when the Exeter family of students and graduates, stretching right across the world, becomes ever more important, and I’m delighted to be announcing two new scholarships to support Greece’s most talented scholars.”
The scholarships are for postgraduate study - one within the Business School and one within Classics for 2014/15 entry.
A further alumni careers networking event is taking place on Saturday 13 April at the Hotel Grande Bretagne, where successful Exeter alumni will speak about their careers, providing useful tips for younger graduates.
Since the establishment of the Greek Alumni group in 2010, the group have organised many events in the country, home to over 600 Exeter graduates. The University’s strong relationship with Greek alumni is incredibly important and has been supported by the AG Leventis Foundation.
Also throughout the weekend the University will be participating in the British Council Education UK Exhibition further details of which can be found on the British Council website.
