Alumni return to Exeter for television awards
Alumni working in the television and media industry returned to Streatham Campus last weekend for the National Student Television (NaSTA) awards.
The 40th annual NaSTA awards were hosted by XTV, the University of Exeter Students' Guild online TV station, over the weekend. The glittering ceremony attracted a number of alumni back to participate in the awards. Alumni in attendance included Glynn Jones (Law 2010) and former XTV station manager Dan John (English 2010) who hosted the ceremony in the Great Hall. Several Exeter alumni also took part in the awards acting as judges or presenting awards to category winners.
The Forum was a focus point of the NaSTA conference with a number of workshops being held by Exeter alumni and other industry experts in the Alumni Auditorium.
XTV collected five awards of their own, making them one of the biggest winners of the night. They picked up:
Best Title Sequence
Highly Commended Best Animation
Highly Commended Best On Screen Female
Highly Commended Best Ident
Highly Commended Tim Marshall Award for Special Recognition.
