Charlotte Pike (Spanish and French 2007)
University cook books prepare to launch
A book signing tour gets underway for an Exeter alumna this summer as she promotes her new cookery book series.
Charlotte Pike (Spanish and French 2007) has written three titles in her Hungry Student series which is published by Quercus and released on 1st August. The first book contains a wide range of dishes while the others focus on vegetarian food and the first ever student baking book.
“The recipes have been very popular and not just with students,” she said. “We hope they'll have a wider appeal for people looking for great food to cook at home that won't break the bank.”
Charlotte went to work in the City after graduating and then left to set up her own award winning bakery. It was from there she was offered a three book deal. She also writes about food for HELLO! magazine and The Guardian.
This summer she will take part in a book tour to promote the series and she also plans to visit various universities to give cookery demonstrations.
“I’m delighted with the books because they look gorgeous and really focus on delicious food you can easily prepare on a budget in a university kitchen,” Charlotte added. “The publishers are very ambitious for the series and I hope people will love the recipes as much as we do”.
