The event was a great success, and there are already plans to follow up this initial event with a regular quarterly informal meeting for Germany alumni.

First Exeter alumni event held in Munich

In late April, 25 University of Exeter alumni gathered at the museum Villa Stuck in Munich for the first ever Germany alumni event.

Organised by Germany Country Contact Dr. Gordon Christian (with the assistance of Peter Hansen, LLM - 1997), it was an opportunity in particular for alumni based in Southern Germany to meet and reminisce about great times had in Exeter. Some guests had even travelled from as far away as the South of France to attend, which was much appreciated!

Following a welcome drink, meeting participants then enjoyed a fascinating guided tour of the exhibition "Common Grounds," and enjoyed lunch and animated conversations outside in the Café situated in the lovely Villa Stuck grounds. Those who still had time at the end of the afternoon joined the host for a typical Bavarian dinner at the nearby Hofbräukeller.

The event was a great success, and there are already plans to follow up this initial event with a regular quarterly informal meeting for Germany alumni.
