Exeter alumna shortlisted for Rising Star Award

Virginia Stuart-Taylor (Modern Languages, 2012) has been shortlisted for a WeAreTheCity 2020 Rising Star Award.

WeAreTheCity help corporate companies to retain and develop female talent, plus the organisation runs events and networking to help women develop their careers. The Rising Star Awards focus on the achievements of women below Senior Management or Director level – representing the female talent pipeline and the next generation of future leaders.

Covering 20 separate categories, the 200-strong shortlist showcases remarkable women within the UK representing different industries/professions.

The shortlist will now be judged by an additional set of expert judges and the winners will be announced on 11 May 2020. A public vote of support is also open for all shortlisted nominees. The public vote only determines one winner out of the five winners of each category, the other four winners are decided by our judges.

Virginia is an EU Negotiations Advisor in the UK Civil Service, a Digital Ambassador for global children’s charity Plan International, and an Ambassador from two One Young World summits in Johannesburg and Dublin. She’s also been selected by the Future Leaders Network as Head of the UK’s Delegation to the G7 Youth Summit in Washington DC in June 2020. She currently lives and works in London, but has lived in 6 other countries across Europe, South America and Asia, has visited over 65 countries, and writes the award-winning travel blog www.TheWell-TravelledPostcard.com.
