Alumni in China Share Employability Insights
The Exeter China Alumni Association (ECAA) organised their annual employability events during March and April, where alumni and student guests benefitted from networking and hearing interactive career presentations from alumni across different sectors.
On 27 March in Shanghai, the audience heard from Kaijun Shao (LLM International Business Law 2004), Founding Partner at Beijing Shang Gong (Shanghai) Law Firm, Xinrui Shu, Strategic Consulting Consultant at Ernst & Young, and Liang Xu (MSc Finance and Management 2018), an expert in the wealth management industry. All guests had the opportunity to network and speak directly to the panel following the presentations.
Taking place on the same day, events took place in Beijing and Guangzhou on 10 April. In Beijing, Liang Xu (MSc Finance and Management 2018), Wealth Advisor at Guosen Securities Asset Allocation, and mining expert, Zhihai Luo, PHD Mining and Minerals Engineering 2020) shared his career experiences and tips during short presentations followed by a panel Q&A session. In Guangzhou in a similar interactive format, alumni speakers included Bruce Xue (MSc Economics 2015), Xizhi Zhang (MA Translation 2010), Associate Professor at Guangdong University of Foreign Studies South China Business College, Jing Lin (MSc Accounting and Finance 2014), Finance Manager-Commercial Analysis, FP&A at Danone Waters, and Benjamin King (BA Classics 2014): CEO at Kinyu (Supply Chain Management).
