Ed has been the lead presenter for ITV Racing since 2017

Exeter alumnus nominated for Sports Presenter of the Year

Alumnus and ITV Racing Presenter, Ed Chamberlin (Politics, 1996), has been nominated for Sports Presenter of the Year at the Broadcast Sport Awards 2022.

Ed has been ITV’s lead Horse Racing presenter since 2017 when he joined the channel from Sky Sports. Before then he was already well known as Sky’s main football presenter, hosting Super Sunday and Monday Night Football shows.

This is not the first time Ed’s work has been recognised. In 2019 he, and his broadcast partner Francesca Cumani, won Broadcast Sports Presenter of the Year at the British Sports Journalism Awards, and in 2018 the ITV team’s coverage of the previous year’s Grand National netted them a BAFTA.

Ed says: “I am delighted to be nominated for Sports Presenter of the Year at the Broadcast Sport Awards, to be taking Horse Racing onto that stage and to be up there with such esteemed and talented presenters.

“I consider myself very lucky to have enjoyed such a fascinating career in sport, and my three years at Exeter set me on that path. I have great memories of the academic side of it - and I somehow managed not to miss a race meeting at Wincanton or Exeter!”

The Broadcast Sport Awards 2022 honour the most creative and inspiring examples of sports production, sports broadcast and digital sports content of the last year. The winners will be revealed at a special ceremony on 1 November 2022.

Good luck Ed!
