SETsquared Exeter reveals latest growth figures

SETsquared Exeter, partner of the world’s number 1 University business incubation service has released growth figures, highlighting an encouraging increase in staff numbers and investment for the region.

In 2017, SETsquared Exeter supported more than 70 businesses, with 33 based at either the Innovation Centre or Exeter Science Park.

These client businesses have turned over £11.5M, seen a 30 per cent growth in staff numbers and an investment of £4.44M. The businesses also included 10 female founders.

Having successfully filled the first building, Exeter Science Park Centre, new space is now being developed for the next generation of startup businesses. This grow-on space will continue to support pioneering research and development businesses in the STEMM sector.

Highlights for SETsquared Exeter clients include: Milkalyser, agricultural engineering startup, receiving £1 million of funding to further develop its innovative dairy farm equipment, Brain in Hand, a digital health tech company who have received significant funding, recognition from American Business Magazine, Forbes and grown into extended office space. Seedata, digital agency, have expanded their team and expertise, they are working with the University as well as organisations such as NEW Devon CCG, providing the team with exciting business opportunities.
