Space Action Plan targets thousands of new jobs

The Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Local Enterprise Partnership have published a Space Action Plan, looking at how the region can share in the growth of the global space economy, estimated to be worth £400 billion annually by 2030.

The South West Centre of Excellence in Satellite Applications, led by the University of Exeter, has worked with the Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Local Enterprise Partnership to publish a Space Action Plan. The plan outlines how the region can increase its share in the year-on-year growth in the global space economy.

The UK is hoping to capture 10 per cent of the market, presenting a huge economy for Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly to harness our existing assets and to be at the forefront of the space revolution.

The Space Action Plan, aiming to create 2000 space technology jobs by 2030, was launched at the Eden Project in March 2018:
