PDAC brings together mining professionals from across the globe
CSM return to world’s largest mining trade event
Camborne School of Mines (CSM) will be returning to the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada Annual Convention (PDAC) in 2018.
As an exhibitor in the main Trade Show, CSM will be joining the world’s leading mining organisations exhibiting to an audience of more than 25,000 attendees. A delegation including Head of CSM, Prof Kip Jeffrey, will be on hand for four days of the convention meeting businesses and students looking to take advantage of CSM’s unique offering.
Taking place in Toronto, Canada, PDAC brings together mining professionals from across the globe and is a showcase of the latest ideas and innovations transforming the sector. In 2018, CSM will be taking this opportunity to launch its newly updated masters portfolio, including professional and traditional courses in Minerals Processing. They will also be using PDAC as an opportunity to present their vision of the future of mining, giving business a chance to talk to a range of academics and experts about the challenges and opportunities facing the industry as it enters a revolution powered by data, augmented reality and robotics.
In addition to exhibiting in the main Trade Show, CSM will be hosting a limited-attendance presentation at the Royal Ontario Museum’s spectacular Earth Treasures gallery, housing over 2,300 specimens of minerals, rocks and meteorites. Here, Prof Jeffrey will lead discussion with industry leaders on ‘Preparing for the future: Three ways technology is changing mining’. Limited spaces remain – if you are interested in attending please contact the team during the conference via social media or by visiting stand TS0953.
Prof Kip Jeffrey said: "PDAC is an important event in the sector’s calendar and we’re thrilled to be using it to launch our new masters and professional programmes. CSM is going through an exciting time in its history as it embraces new ways of accessing and processing essential resources and we’re looking forward to being able to share our thoughts and views on how this will affect the industry. We’re looking forward to meeting many friends, alumni and businesses over the course of the convention."
