New ranking puts Mining Engineering course in Global Top 20

The Mining and Mineral Engineering course at Camborne School of Mines has been ranked as one of the very best in the world, according to the latest QS World University Subject Rankings.

The Camborne School of Mines has a 130-year heritage of delivering excellent mining education, and by moving up in the rankings this has been proven as the course is now within the global top 20 on the prestigious international league table.

This new ranking also puts the course, and the University, as the highest ranked in the UK in this area.

Professor Ken Evans, Pro-Vice-Chancellor and Executive Dean in the College of Engineering, Mathematics and Physical Sciences, said: “It is wonderful to see Mining Engineering perform so strongly in this latest rankings. As well as demonstrating the commitment and excellence of our superb staff and students, it also pays testament to the world-leading research and collaborations that are taking place not only in the College, but across the University as a whole.”

To compile the rankings, QS analysed more than 22 million papers, producing almost two million citations. In total, 1,130 institutions were ranked across the 48 subjects and five subject areas.
