Professor Lisa Roberts, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Exeter said: “I am delighted that the world-leading research that is conducted by University of Exeter researchers has been recognised in these important, international rankings.
"Our researchers in both sciences and humanities in Exeter and Cornwall excel at combining discovery research with exposing and tackling some of the key issues being faced on a global stage, to create healthier, sustainable, and socially-just futures for all.”
For the new table, more than 4,000 universities were ranked in five different fields: the natural sciences, engineering, life sciences, medical sciences, and social sciences.
The results were determined by measuring the quantity, quality, influence and impact of research at each institution, as well as the extent of international collaboration and the number of staff recognised with awards.
