Exeter strengthens top 150 position in latest influential rankings
The University of Exeter’s has strengthened in place in the top 150 worldwide in the latest influential league table, published today (October 12th).
Exeter is ranked =137th in the world in the latest Times Higher Education World University Rankings – a rise of 6 places – reinforcing its increasing global reputation in recent years.
The University has retained its position in the top 20 in the UK in the league table, remaining 19th .
The Times Higher Education World University Rankings are based on 13 separate performance measures covering all of the core missions of a world class university and grouped into five areas – teaching, research, citations, international outlook and industry income.
Professor Lisa Roberts, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Exeter said: “I am delighted that the University of Exeter has once again strengthened its position within the global top 150 in these influential rankings.
“This exceptional result not only reaffirms Exeter’s position as a world-leading university for research, education, and working with industry partners, but also demonstrates our commitment to lead the way in creating a sustainable, healthy and socially just future for all.”
These are the latest rankings this year that reflect Exeter’s position amongst the world’s leading universities. In September, Exeter was runner-up in the University of the Year award, and placed 13th overall, in the The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2023. Exeter also retained its place in the top 15 UK universities in the Guardian University Guide 2023.
The University broke into the top 150 in the QS World University Rankings for the first time, securing 149th position in the latest table, while the University was also ranked as the 46th most international university worldwide, based on data from the Times Higher Education World University Rankings.
Student satisfaction at the University of Exeter was also recognised as the best of any Russell Group university in the National Student Survey (NSS) 2022, published in July.
