College of Humanities consolidates its UK-leading position in The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2016
The headlines may be that Exeter has maintained its outstanding position at 7th in the prestigious The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide as well as being proclaimed Sports University of the Year, but the good news continues for many of our individual subjects within the College of Humanities.
7 of our subjects are ranked in the top 5 in the UK – Classics and Ancient History; Drama; History and Art History; Italian; Russian; and Theology and Religion – while another 6 take up places in the top 10, consolidating our reputation as being amongst the top universities in the country for arts and humanities subjects.
Dean of the College of Humanities, Professor Andrew Thorpe commented, "These results are excellent, and a credit to the superb staff and students of the College. They demonstrate that the very best quality teaching and research really do go hand in hand, and show that the University as a whole is a great place to study.”
Associate Dean for Education, Professor Sarah Hamilton said, "It’s very pleasing to see the Humanities subjects doing so well yet again in The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide this year, and is a testament to the excellent work undertaken by colleagues."
