Conference showcases postgraduate research excellence in Cornwall
The quality and diversity of research carried out at the University of Exeter’s Penryn Campus has been celebrated at a special event.
More than 90 postgraduate students and staff attended the recent Exploring Research In Cornwall (ERIC) conference, which showcased some of the pioneering research being conducted at the Cornwall campus.
Now in its third year, the ERIC conference featured a series of presentations and lectures from representatives from the campus. The event also saw two thought-provoking talks from keynote speakers Paul Craze, the Editor for Trends in Ecology and Evolution, and Stuart Herbert, the Commercial Director of Wave Hub.
Several prizes were also awarded at of the event, including Lewis Barlett who was awarded Best Postgraduate Speaker and Keziah Blake-Mizen who secured Best Poster of the Day.
Speaking after the event Dr Chris Wood, Researcher Development Programme Manager, said: “The ERIC conference, which is organised by postgraduates for postgraduates, goes from strength to strength each year. Attendees get an enormous amount out of what is an excellent showcase for postgraduate research taking place in Cornwall.”
