CSM enjoys success at annual Teaching Awards
CSM OLD Apr24 enjoyed considerable success at Exeter’s recent annual Student Guild and FXU Teaching Awards ceremony.
The mining school was honoured as ‘Best Subject’ at the University’s Penryn Campus at the 2016 Teaching Awards, while Dr Lewis Meyer secured runner-up position in the ‘Best Lecturer’ category.
Professor Ken Evans, Pro-Vice-Chancellor and Executive Dean of the College of Engineering, Mathematics and Physical Sciences said: “I would like to offer my heartfelt congratulations to everyone associated with the Camborne School of Mines, this award is richly deserved.
“These awards are a celebration of all the tremendous hard work, enthusiasm and dedication displayed by our exceptional academic staff. They set high standards, yet this award demonstrates our students feel not just supported, but also provided with an invigorating and ultimately rewarding world-class environment in which to flourish.”
Students, academics and staff from the University of Exeter and Students' Guild gathered to celebrate the 2016 Teaching Awards, held on Thursday, 28 April in the Alumni Auditorium, located in the Forum on the Streatham Campus.
The Students' Guild Teaching Awards were introduced in 2012 to recognise the outstanding dedication and commitment of University staff. A number of categories were created to acknowledge those staff who not only provide outstanding academic experiences, but those who support their students' wider development.
