Our research has been rated as world-leading or internationally excellent in the Research Excellence Framework (REF).

The Graduate School of Education at Exeter ranked 6th* in the UK for world-leading research.

Across all the 76 submissions in Education in the UK, the Graduate School of Education at Exeter ranks:

  • Equal first in terms of research environment (4* plus 3*)
  • 2nd in terms of 4* research outputs

Overall, the Graduate School of Education had 44% of its research rated at 4* and 87.5% at 4* for the environment score, which is the best in the University.
