Dr Addo meets with UN Secretary General
Michael Addo and other members of the Coordinating Committee of the Human Rights Council Special Procedures met with the United Nations Secretary-General, Mr Ban Ki-Moon.
Members present at the meeting included Mr Francois Crepeau, the UN Special Rapporteur on Human Rights of Migrants and Mr Chaloka Beyani, the UN Special Rapporteur on the Human Rights of Internally Displaced Persons.
They discussed a range of issues including the role of Special Procedure mandate holders in the Secretary-General's Human Rights 'Up Front' initiative as well as the UN's strategy on reprisals and the funding for human right programmes. The Secretary-General thanked the Special Procedures mandate holders for their work.
