Dr Joseph Lee Leads a Project Funded by the British Academy

Dr Joseph Lee of Exeter University and the European Issuers are conducting a survey of companies’ views on the current market environment.

Dr Joseph Lee of the Law School of  University of Exeter, in collaboration with the European Issuers, is taking the lead in investigating the legal and regulatory frameworks for stock exchange interconnection in a project funded by the British Academy. As part of this research, a questionnaire is being circulated among companies. The aim of this survey is to find out how companies perceive opportunities and threats in the current capital market environment. Today, stock exchanges are developing new products and devising new methods of operation. These innovations will affect the way companies raise finance and also how they can benefit from the new market environment. As companies are the most important stakeholders in exchange operations, it is vital to know how they, whether large, mid-cap, or new entrants, view the current market environment. The survey will help researchers identify areas where market structures and regulatory frameworks may be improved.
