Jessup International Law Moot 2015 – Exeter Team Reach the Quarter-Finals!
The University of Exeter team recently succeeded in reaching the quarter-finals of the national rounds of the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot.
The national rounds were held from 26th February to 1stMarch at Gray’s Inn, London. The Exeter team was comprised of Eleanor Sharrock, Gareth Evans, Daniel Bula, Carolina Nakhle and Adam Stevens. The team was coached by Dr Jarrod Hepburn and Dr Annika Jones. The team performed excellently in the preliminary rounds, ranking among the top 8 universities in the UK at the competition. Whilst at the Quarters, they fought a close battle against Oxford, the reigning champions who reached the finals and will be representing the UK in the World Championship.
The Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition is the largest and most prestigious public international law moot, with teams from hundreds of law schools competing throughout the world.
The success of the Exeter team this year continues Exeter’s excellent record in the competition. Exeter reached the semi-finals of the competition in 2011 and 2013, the quarter-finals in 2012 and won the Spirit of the Jessup award in 2014.
