Law School Celebrates new Partnership with Office of the Thai Judiciary

The University of Exeter has enjoyed a variety of good links in Thailand for a number of years. In Autumn 2019, the Law School have been delighted to develop these links still further by developing a partnership with the Office of the Thai Judiciary. The new agreement will see the University of Exeter deliver a postgraduate Certificate of Contemporary Legal Practice in Bangkok, designed to support the professional development of those working in the Thai judicial system. The certificate, which is aimed at Thai judges and judicial officials, will be delivered by Exeter Law School staff who will travel to Bangkok to deliver a series of four bespoke modules focused on different aspects of contemporary legal studies. Upon successful completion of these modules, Thai judges and judicial officials will have the opportunity to travel to Exeter and complete the Exeter LLM in a shortened timeframe. 19 Thai students have embarked upon studying the certificate in September 2019.

Prof Greta Bosch said of the new programme ‘I’m delighted that Exeter has formalised our relationship with the Office of the Thai Judiciary. So far, we have been very impressed with the standard of the students taking this certificate and I hope that we are able to welcome many of them to Exeter to take our LLM course in future.

The course has also been supported by Professor Andrea Lista.
